Residential Adaptations & Occupational Therapy Assessments

We provide access consultancy services to help people remain independent and safe within their own homes. This is achieved by adapting their environment to improve accessibility and flexibility. Frequent adaptations include:

• Ramping or level access to entrances
• Flush floor showers to replace baths
• Widening doorways
• Adapted kitchens
• Extensions to provide ground floor bedroom and sanitary facilities

Typically an adaptation would include:

• Feasibility visit with Occupational Therapist (OT)
• Measured survey
• Preparation of drawings and specification
• Planning and Building Regulations approval (where necessary)
• Tendering
• Overseeing work on site
• Completion inspection

These adaptations are undertaken either under Disabled Facilities Grant with Social Service's OTs for local authority housing departments; or privately using our in-house registered Occupational Therapist.
